SUSS creates strong reciprocal partnerships with government agencies to jointly advance our missions and work that focus on community development and social change.
Youth Corps Singapore (YCS) is a national institution that supports young Singaporeans who are keen to serve the community. It provides the breadth and depth of volunteering opportunities for youths through various community service events, regular volunteering programmes and the Youth Corps Leaders Programme where youths get to design and deliver a local service-learning (SL) projects. YCS primarily addresses community needs in the areas of education, health, special needs, arts, sports and heritage, environment, children and family, youths and elderly.
On 3 March 2016, SUSS and YCS signed an MOU, committing to jointly advance SL in Singapore; most notably, to design, develop and offer a range of professional certification courses that will cover the philosophy, principles and practices of SL. This collaboration aligns with SUSS’s aim to serve as an open, inclusive community resource; forming part of the larger ecosystem that contributes to the service of society.
